I HAD MY LAP RNY ONE WEEK AGO TODAY,I GET TO START FULL LIQUIDS AND THEY SAID I COULD START MY PROTEIN SHAKES TODAY, I HOPE I GET SOME ENERGY FROM THEM. MY QUESTION IS, HOW SLOW/LONG SHOULD IT TAKE TO FINISH AN 8oz SHAKE?? IT SEEMS LIKE SUCH A BIG AMOUNT TO PUT IN MY POUCH! I AM NOT HUNGRY AT ALL AND AM PRETTY MUCH FORCING MYSELF TO TAKE SIPS OF THE SHAKE. ANY SUGGESTIONS? THANKS TO YOU ALL!!!!! LOVE JULIE

when I first started drinking my protein shakes, it would take me 30-40 minutes to drink it. Don't rush...just sip, sip, sip. It's all liquids, so it doesn't really matter how long it takes you. If you could get in 2 shakes a day, that will help you out a lot, and believe it or not, it isn't filling like real food is. Tricia

Tricia~ Thanks!! I think I can get in 2 shakes a day, I really need my energy level to increase, I feel like I just want to be able to do something!! besides sit and sleep, I do walk a few times a day, but that wears me out big time!!!! I am hoping it will all improve every day!!!! Thanks again.......Julie

Julie It is very normal to be tired out. At this point going up a flight of stairs can take all your energy away. My first week or so i had to sit and rest alot, but then I was ready to go again. Took lots of naps also, which the doc said was normal and that we needed to do that. Our body has alot of healing to do, and our calory intake has dropped dramatically. The protien is really important though now, for healing and later, because it is a main source of nutrients for us. Glad to hear all is going well, each day gets alittle better Kristi

Hi Julie, When I did full liquids I would have malt o Meal for breakfast, Yogurt, the low carb, fat free stuff, found some at Krogers, carb select, not bad. I would also have creamy soups. About 2 oz of whatever, 3 x a day, plus at least 2 shakes. The one I found that I like is at Walmart, is called Body Fortress, chocolate flaver. Has

Julie, Glad to hear from you! It still takes me about an hour to finish one shake. If I can fini**** I am having issues with that part! But if you can do it, thats great!!! I am still not hungry!! Its hard to 'remember' to eat! I have a timer. What kind of shakes are you drinking? Just curious...I am trying to stretch my wings on the protein shake thing! xoxoxojenn
