Hi all,
Hello all,
Time for me to check in, it has been a crazy week for me. My husband moved out on Friday, and on Monday asked if he could come back home, and he got rid of the GF. So very happy about that. This past Saturday, my sister and her husband had a fire on there farm and lost a machine shed with all there farming equipment in it, and last night my sister inlaw from texas died, so we are on our way down there soon.
Other than that all is goin well.
I do have a question though, is the weight loss kinda slow the first few weeks? One week before surg i did the liquid diet, lost 10lbs, since the actual surgery which was 2 1/2 weeks ago, i think i've only lost about 13lbs. Which seems kinda slow.
Julie, glad to hear you made it home and all is going well.
take care everyone and God bless
Kristi
WOW, when it rains it pours doesnt it? I"m sorry to hear about all the problems your family is having. I will keep ya'll in my thoughts and prayers.
SO GLAD you hubby pulled his head out of his a$$ and came back home to you guys!
My weight loss has been slow. The first 8 days I lost 20 lbs.. then NOTHING from 9 days out up until Thursday. Since Thursday I've lost 5 more lbs. They say your body is fighting starvation and holding onto everything it can, thats why it slows down for a bit. But it'll pick up again!!
Not sure if I was much help, but thats my experience and what I've been told, so I was just passing the info along!! lol

Thanks Lora,
Thats kinda what I've been telling myself, the body thinks it is being starved and once it realizes this is it, then the metabolizim will kick in and start doing its thing. I know the first 15 lbs or so is mostly water weight, at least it always was any other time i lost weight.
Sounds like you are doing well, keep up the good work.
Kristi
I think your weight loss has really been good. I lost 25 before surgery and then 15 in the first two weeks after surgery. Then 3 lbs. over the next 3 weeks! I stopped weighing myself. I was going crazy. Now, I'm only going to do it once a month. In the meantime, I'm really enjoying the looseness of my clothes, fitting into "new" clothes which have been hanging in my closet for a long time, and fitting into theatre chairs without being wedged in and spilling over the sides.
Hi Kristi!
Great news about your DCH (Dear but Confused Husband).. sorry about the rest of it.. but they say things happen in threes.. so with DCH, then the fire and your SIL.. I'd say you're done for a while.. Condolences to you and your family in the hard times..
Re your weight loss.. The first few weeks.. yeah.. don't expect your scale to tell you any kind of truth at all. Your body is going to be in shock for a little while.. take your measurements and leave the scale in the garage.. let the cobwebs grow on it
Most everyone I've talked to hits a stall between 3 and 5wks out.. then it picks up again... so I don't think you're in any kind of trouble with that.
Just keep getting in your water and vitamins.. get your protein in.. you'll be fine!
Stef
