So I am pretty much in the same boat as I was with my protein shake question, wait and see. I am in accounting, I always like to be prepared, these things go against everything that has been drilled into my head I guess the element of surprise is not going to be a bad thing. I am hoping that the chocolate cravings die down a little. That is okay, the waiting time is getting less and less everyday. 3 more dietician visits and we will submit to insurance!! I talked to my surgeons office and they are going to get everything ready to go so the day after that last dietician appointment all they have to add is the report from that visit and send it away!!! I am soo excited. I am hoping that in 5 weeks I have my date! Nancy

Nancy, I was the same way.. I wanted to know what was going to happen and how to handle it.. but for all my preparation, I still had things happen that I didn't anticipate or that didn't happen the way other people said they would.. Initially, you won't crave or want to eat anything.. not physically anyway. I think the time away from those things you are accustomed to craving will help lessen them to some degree.. Try to work on contingencies.. rather than certainties (since there are none). Say to yourself.. "well if A happens, I'll do B. If C happens.. I can always do D" You'll feel better knowing you have an option ready for whatever comes along. Stef

Hi there Nancy R. Before surgery I craved ice cream, donuts, pizza, ribs..U name it and I wanted it; matter of fact anything milky or creamy. Not chocolate too much unless it was a Mars bar. But, now I have trained myself to see all for what it is. I have omitted white flour products, sugar producs, pops(including diet)-because the carbonation bloats, beer, and the like... so I am trying very hard...I
