Has anyone else felt this way
It's been 2 1/2 months since my surgery and I have lost 45lbs. I feel great and I am doing more, but yesterday I had my husband take a picture of me and OMG I don't look like I lost any weight. I still look so unbelivebly hugh. I got so depressed and wondered why I can't see the weight loss. Others say they can tell and I am looking good, but I can't see it. I know I have lost and I feel healthier but not feeling the weight loss. Dawn
Dawn,
Its been almost four months for me...I've lost over 100 lbs and like you, I can't really see it in the pictures I've taken...not only that, I'm not feeling it in the size of pants I wear (in the waist, I don't feel like I've lost a thing!).
I try not to think about it to much...I do see it BIGTIME in my legs...I also see it in my shoulders/neck and arms...my trunk is my problem tho, and I'm just not seeing the results I thought I should (of course, my husband sees it just fine!)
Hang in there...from what I've been told...one day, you'll look in the mirror, and you wont recognize yourself...and it will all hit you!
Good luck!

I just talked to a friend of mine the other day who is 2 years out. She has lost over 130 lbs. and she lookes great, I almost didn't even recognize her.
She said that she still doesn't see it in the mirror, but she feels MUCH better and is off of all medications. Logically, due to the smaller size clothes and stuff, she knows that she looks different, but she says that she, herself, doesn't really see it.
I wonder if it just takes our brains so much longer to catch up after spending years looking at the same old reflection?
Try not to obsess on it and enjoy the healthier you!

Dawn, I am almost 16 months out and I still feel this way. I have lost 135 pounds, but I still see the fat me in the mirror. My husband gets really upset with me, because he tries to compliment me and I am like "yeah right". I am still a fatty. I do feel really good, but I just don't see it. You would think that I would seeing that I went from a size 30/32 into a 14/16. Hopefully, some day my mind will catch up with my body and I will see it. Until then I will just keep trying. LOL

Thanks everyone. I know I have to be patient, but I still haven't gone done in pants size yet. I lost all my weight on the upper part of my body and I feel like a bowling pin(ha ha) I guess when I start going down in pants size I'll feel better....I went to the gym yesturday and kept thinking what can I do to lose the weight on the lower half? I know it will happen soon....thanks again. Dawn
