Okay guys....had surgery Monday...I am REALLY trying this pured thing, but it is really unappetising to me...I mean i look at it and get a little quesy. I know its mind over matter! But....would it be so darn bad not to make it in liquid form...I mean as long as I chew to the consistancy of puree...isn't that the same? I know it seems i am fishing for an excuse. I am! I can't stomach it! To me its gross...any other ideas? Can I just stick to my shakes, yougart, sf pudding, sf jello and not to the pureed meat? You all are the experts. I'd rather have the shakes!! Thanks a gazillion! xoxoxojenn

I"m on puree and it SUCKS! What I've been doing with my meat and stuff is chopping it until its really ground up(I use my mini chopper) and I use it that way. I just chew the tar out of it. I cant do the puree- I gag everytime I put it in my mouth. I've thought about sticking to applesauce, cottage cheese and the puddings, etc also. But that gets old fast and at least with the puree, there's a little more of a selection. Good Luck!!

Jennifer, I think back 2 years ago and I had the same problem. I pureed once and no way could I eat it. So I just took really tiny, tiny, tiny bites and chewed till it was pureed before I swallowed and did just fine. Good luck on you journey, It is so worth it. D

Hey D! I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for checking in and posting. It's important to those of us who are just starting out or thinking about starting to get perspective from someone who's where we want to be! So, thanks for still getting on the boards and for offering your wisdom. Sandy

I made this tastey recipe last night made with Pork Tenderloin. I did just that...I cut it up in small bits and chewed until it was pretty well liquified in my mouth before swallowing. I tried pureed again this morning...no luck I am going to stick to this for now, unless it causes a problem. I figure whats the difference if I chew, chew, and chew or use my Magic bullet (blender!)... Thanks for posting! You don't know how much I appreciate it! xoxoxojenn

You know.. when I went on pureed.. I didn't use a blender.. I used a baby food grinder.. and basically, everything was whatever consistency I wanted it. I could cook some chicken or turkey.. with a little gravy I could grind it up and it was still hot and tasted and smelled just like what I had cooked. For me, pureed stage was easy. All my veggies ended up looking and being the consistency of mashed potatoes.. and I could only eat about a 1/2 cup at a time anyway.. It's worth a try.. the grinder is non-electric so you can take it with you anywhere (we got it at a cooking store for about $15). It worked great! Stef
