Yep Julie
You're completely normal LOL
Many people have racing thoughts before surgery. Ummmm and as for your "friend" ... don't be surprised if you start in the hospital anyways. Major surgery can often bring out the best in us LOL Just try to take one day at a time, relax every day and remember why you're doing this!
Best wishes!
Cathy
HI Julie,
I'm right there with Ya. My surgery is on the 28th. I'm having open rny so I'm worried about getting a hernia and all that. Like you I have never had ANY surgery before. I'm just trying to take one day at a time and not get too nervous. I'm on vacation so I have a lot of time on my hands so its starting to sink in a little bit. I'm going to go get a pedicure so at least I will have pretty toes. Take care and I'll be thinking of you.

Hi Julie
It is only normal to feel nervous. I had never had any surgery before either. I don't know what i expected, but it really wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. The hardest part was when I got home trying to get around, don't have rails on the bed at home to pull yourself up with. Other than that all went well. Keep a positive attitude, I drank alot of protein shakes before the surgery, it helps promote healing.
You will do good, just hang in there.

Julie, I have been thinking about you, as I read your profile, we have some things in common,(Aside from my profile being pitiful)I too will be having a lap RNY by Dr Boe on May 10. I will pray for a successful surgery and quick painless recovery and a peaceful last week before your new adventure begins! I look forward to loosing the # with you. Best, Jeanne
