State Mandate??????

HELP!!!!!! I was just reading the posts again, and one of them talks about Lisa Madigan and a new state mandate as of 1-5-05, forcing covereage if you meet the NIH guidelines? IS IT TRUE???? I can't seem to find any information, where should I look?

I submitted a question to the attorney general's comment/question area asking your question. It says that it may take several days to answer due to the volume of questions that they receive. I could not find anything on her site in regards to any type of legislation. I think that would have been on the news big time if it were so. It makes me wonder if it is just a vicious rumor. If anyone has the actual House or Senate bill number that could be put into the State's website to look up.

If it is, Barb S is talking about the fact that a person is entitled to an external review of their records etc with their insurance company. I am going to guess for when a person is denied by insurace for coverage of WLS. Christine

Yes, it is Barb S.'s post I was referring to. I had gone to Lisa's site and couldn't find anything either...that is why I am asking. But, I haven't been following the news, so ir wouldn't be unusual for me to have missed something. I am not a big news follower..... Even the external reveiw law is helpful. Thank you VERY much Christine for all of your help.
