Lap Band

I am finishing my pre-op requirements, to send to insurance for approval for lap band. Are there very many people who have had lap band? It seems like most of the site is devoted to gastric bypass, and the people who have had RY, etc., don't consider Lap band to be surgery. Is there another place on the site I should be looking?

I had the lap band and you are right, we are a minority. I am happy with my decision even though I am losing at a slower rate than my RNY buddies. Long term though, the results are the same(according to statistics). If you have any questions, feel free to email. Tina, I am doing great. I have some restriction but have yet to find my sweet spot. I cant eat as much as I used to, but I believe I can still eat too much. I am getting another fill in a few weeks, so I'll see how that plays out. My doc isnt very agressive and does fills every six weeks. I read your profile and you are doing great.Congrats to you........ dawn

Hi Tiffany I have the Lap Band also and the Lap Band board is a great place to get support. Like Dawn I am happy with my band....I do wish I would lose faster but in the long run it will balance out...If you have any questions feel free to email me. Tina
