Has anyone had a rny revision after 5 years? I have a friend you had an open RNY in 2000, lost a ton of weight kept it off for a few years, went thru a SUPER stressfull year and gained a good 50-70 pounds back. Wants to have a revision or something to get back on track. any stories or suggestions?

Julie, is a revision necessary or does she just need to knuckle down and get back to basics? Can she eat massive amounts of food now compared to when she first had her surgery? Has she had her insides checked out to see if she has something mechanically wrong, as in a stoma enlargement or a stretched pouch? She needs to first contact her surgeon and sit down and talk to him or her about what is going on with her. This may be embarrassing to her but she really needs to be checked out first and a different doctor that she goes to will do that first anyways. Maybe it is only stress eating and with a little help from a dietician for her to get back on track with proper eating and exercise is all that she needs. Otherwise, if she has had herself check physically and it is mechanical then look through the find a doc link above and she can check to see if any of the doctors in the list are close to her and she can contact one or more for an appointment.
