I had just completed(ithought) all the the things the insurance company requires you to have to get clearance for WLS, they submitted all my stuff on Monday and today they called me and said i was denied again because they didnt count the first month as the first month. If it can happen it will happen to me. I just needed to vent . Thanks for letting me. Nanette

Nanette..........bless your heart! What a blow. Just remember that insurance companies are in business to make money; they don't care about your health! I don't know what company you have, but just keep at them. My sis had the Tennessee equivalent of Medicaid and finally got approved. She's two years out and feels fabulous. Go look at my profile and shee how well she's done when she finally won her fight. Just keep fighting them until you win! Do everything they want to the letter. Make them pay up for this wonderful thing you're doing for yourself! Keep the faith.....Judy

Nanette............Health Alliance HMO is one of the state's providers (I work at SIUC) and I know people who have had their surgeries paid through Health Alliance. However, these insurance companies can change their requirements at a whim, as one of the other posts indicates. I was so fortunate...I had CIGNA and didn't have one tiny bit of trouble getting approved, but now they say CIGNA is requiring all kinds of stuff before they will approve. Just keep at them, hon.............I read your profile and you are worth whatever fight you have to fight. You are so young and have so much ahead of you to enjoy. I'm 60 and feel like I have a new life, so I can imagine how it's going to be for you at your age! .............Judy

Nanette - I am sorry, just think though it is ONLY one more month. You can do it, do not give up on yourself. You will make it!! I know you can do it, positive thoughts. Best of luck but I know you don't need it, just a little more time and you will be there, Nancy PS Please tell ME those words in two months if I am denied after my doctor/dietician supervised diet!!!

Nanette, Been there, done that. I was in month 5 of my 6 month requirements when insurance changed it to 12 months. It went fast, but I sure lost my motivation along the way. Hang in there one more month and you'll be home free. Good luck to you. Sherry
