10 weeks out
Hi WL Friends,
I am 10 weeks out and have only lost 44 lbs. Does this seem normal?
I walk 2 miles a day OR ride my bike 10 miles a day (not both).
I just went back to work. I work in a garden center and spring has sprung. I have started throwing up within the last 3 weeks. I took a trip to CA March 10th and it started the day before that. I throw up almost everyday. It hurts to eat anythin that isn't very soft. Thank God for yogurt! Dr. says to eat slow and chew. I can't eat meat! I get sick everytime. Does any of this sound familiar?
Thanks all,
Pam

Pam, I'm still experimenting with foods. Some stuff works, others don't. I still have at least one protein shake a day, and most days I have two just to make sure I'm getting all my protein in. Chicken can be a problem and hamburger is about the only meat I tolerate really well. I have to chew very well and eat slowly or I get that "urk" feeling. But I'm 12 weeks out and I've ONLY lost 43 pounds, so I guess you're doing better than me, huh? Stop comparing yourself, the only one that matters is you. I have a feeling your doctor is very happy with your progress, isn't he?

Hi Pam~
I'm sorry to hear you're having a tough time with meat. Are you getting all your protein in through other sources? Maybe try meat again in a while - I have found that if I couldn't tolerate something early on, sometimes trying it again a month or so later it goes ok. Sometimes not lol. At 10 weeks out I was still scared to try new stuff too.
Now, with regards to your 44 pound loss. Tell me something girl - when's the last time you lost 44 pounds in two and a half months?! Some folks will say that the less you have to lose, the slower it comes off and you just might fall into that category. So what? As long as you're doing what you're supposed to be doing and the weight keeps coming off - I'd say bravo! Keep up the great work!
Cathy
Thanks Cathy,
Guess you are correct....it took me years to lose 44 lbs and days to gain it back! I am getting gun shy from all food. I tried tuna salad for lunch and now I am sick again.........grrrrrrrrr
Maybe I need to go back to protein shakes but I am sick of chocolate. Did I say that? Wow, be careful what you wish for indeed. lol
Thanks again,
Pam
LOL I know what you mean about getting sick of chocolate. There are a lot of other varieties of protein shakes out there. You can buy stuff at GNC - they have a 30 day open container return policy as long as you have the receipt. Bariatriceating.com and vitalady.com have samples of stuff you can buy 'n try - so you don't waste your money on a whole container only to hate it. I saw where you're not allowed beef for a while longer - that was actually one of the meats I could tolerate better. Hereagain though we're all different. I know how bad it sucks to get sick all the time, just keep your chin up
Have you tried things like eggs and cottage cheese and cheese sticks? You can check out bariatricbytes.com - Tooter has some great ideas and info

Cathy
