Finding a support group??

How do you find one? Do you go befroe your surgery too or only after? The one's for my Dr are too far away. Of course I will travel if I have to, but it would be more convenient if I could find one closer to me...any suggestions on finding one? Thanks!

Kym- I am still pre-op and have not attended a support group meeting yet but I know that where I am having surgery (St. Joe's in Joliet) they meet the third Monday of the month. I am not sure if you have to have had your surgery there or not though. I am going to the May meeting, maybe the April but the May for sure. I know Joliet is not real close to you but the hospital is not to far off of I55. I had looked into the Barix Center. I know that they have support group locations all over the state. Maybe someone who goes to the Barix can look up locations and let you know. Good luck and congrats about your upcoming surgery Nancy

On the left hand side of the screen there is a link that says Events. Under there you can find different support group meetings all over
