I'm home!!!!

Hi! I came home yesterday afternoon...so after 2 days of recovery time. So far, so good! No nausea, walking is going good, the gas finally came and wen****er is going good( though sometimes I feel maybe my sips are too big) and protein is pretty good. I keep reminding myself that this is really just the third day and it will all get easier. My body is very sore though today... shoulders, upper arms and back. Maybe cause I'm not used to lying around... that bugs me more than my incisions at times. I did have it lap and I see when I walk the incisions sometimes itch. I have been tired but again expected. He took my drain out before I left which I barely had any any drainage so another big plus! Dr. Klem was great as well as his staff! I go back in 2 weeks for the first follow up. Hopefully the next 2 weeks will still be uneventful except for weight loss! Giovanna, thanks for being my angel! You're wonderful and l look forward to whne we can finally get together! Thanks Cathy! That's exactly what I'm doing...one day at a time! We're going for a walk later and everything is going down well! I was surprised as some have said that their sense of smell heightens and tastes change... I live with a chef...that would be awful for me as he is always cooking for clients! lol Hopefully they won't change on me later!!!!! Have a great weekend! Peggy

I am so glad your home! And feeling good! I will give you some 'breathing' time before I pounce on you for questions! Answer them whenever you want! Ready? How long after you had all your pre surgery requirements did you get your surgery date? You had surgery Monday? Was today your first day out of CDH? Did it hurt to have the drain pulled? Isn't that weird that is my pain concern? Again I am so darn happy your out and about! Yeah for you! I am also glad to hear that Dr Klem and staff were wonderful, I got that impression from the first time I met them! Its just great to hear from someone else! You are now a looser! Hi! Once we had all the requirements met we submitted to BCBS Wisconsin and had my approval within 7-10 days. I could have scheduled my date earlier but I manage an apartment community in Naperville and had to hire a new Asst. Mngr before I could...then of course had to get her trained. My surgery was Monday and had very little draining so on Wednesday morning he took the drain out...it didn't really hurt... just felt weird as it was being pulled out. I was very happy with the BTC at Central DuPage... Julie is wonderful and Renee is very responsive when you need something. Please let me know how yours progresses! Thanks for the support!
