WOW, I dont know what's up with me. I am so hungry and my stomache aches all day. I drink the bottled Isopure that has 40 grams, drink water, and eat sf jello. My doctor wants us on clear liquids only for two more weeks. I just cant even imagine lasting that long. Do you guys think it would hurt me to have just some creamed slimfast soup? Have any of you progressed yourselves to more of a solid diet at only 7 days out and added creamed soups? I dont want to hurt my pouch but I honestly could eat my own arm off ! I asked my doctor and he said stick to the liquids and I know I should but..... damn. Any advice would help me so much right now. I'm down 7 lbs in 7 days so that is really terrific. I am not a whiner so far me to complain about the hunger is a big deal and I feel like a total weakling. Thanks guys for listening.

Lisa, oh kiddo I am there with you, but stick it out you can do it. I think that just about everyone is hungry on the liquid portion of the diet, I know I was and so was my husband. I do not think that the cream liquid soup will do anything for you because it is still a liquid. Stick with what your doctor says. He knows what your tummy can handle and not handle and it needs to heal right now. Try sipping more waters and liquid proteins like you are doing. Making sure that you are following the rules you have been given for how fast and how soon after your clear liquid meals. Try doing other activities to occupy your time so you do not think about the hunger that you have. Also, now is a good time to get a handle on your hunger and try and figure out if it is real hunger or head hunger; your head trying to make you think that you are hungry. Check back with us on your progress from time to time.

Lisa, when I was going through that i would get up and go walk it seriously made a difference for me... Make sure your taking something in 2-3oz every 2 hours, was what I was told and that wasnt to bad...but check with your surgeon to make sure thats his policy.. BTW I live in Collinsville.. not to far away from Red Bud... Do you go to the Support Group thats held at SWIC or the library now I beleive.. I never get to go I am always working those nights... You've done so well so far..dont give up! Ive been on liquids for 11 days no..not to mention the 2 before surgery. It is getting to me too, I ate like 4 popcycles the other day! Chewing is what we are missing. The hungry feeling you are feeling is the swelling going down (thats good)! When I felt I couldnt do liquid anymore (Yesterday) I called my doctor and asked if i could have some creamy yougurt or milk..he said ok, but only those two things..I had 5 baby spoon bites and was full. Please do what your doctor says..You dont want to mess anything up!! The fear of having something go wrong is what keeps me on my liquids. Go grab a sugar free popsicle!!! YUMMY Also maybe try some white cran berry juice..switch your liquids around..Im sure you are bored of the same thing by now..I know I am.

i will be 5 years post op this December and i have lost 170 pounds.... and now is the time when you have to discipline yourself.....you can say NO to your cravings..... and my mind would always remind me that that most likely what i would be craving is what made me gain in the first place....just thinking that would make me angry enough to go and get another glass of water... i was afraid to cheat because cheating was always something i did on other diets and i would ultimately fail.... it is probably head hunger because your body do NOT want to stop taking in all of those calories, i went from a size 26 to a size 6-8 and i don't regret telling my head hunger where to get off... i was determined before the surgery, and after the surgery that i would not let overeating food kill me the surgery is only a tool, i still have those times when i want to eat a biowl of icecream but i refuse to buy larger jeans and want to continue to dress in shorts during the summer months.... so think of the journey you are on and remember that you are in this to resist the urges that is trying to sabotage your weight loss.... get another sugarfree popsicle, drink more water, walk, but stay away from any foods that your doctor tells you to avoid!!it is hard but you can do it.... i am so glad for all whose lives have changesd as a result of self discipline after this surgeru, you too will look back one day and encourage another post-op member to stay the course... it is certainly worth it!! wishing you the very best, viola canton

Thanks so much to all of you ! Today seems to be going better. I had a shake with skim milk that gave me 30 grams, and have been drinking Isopure all day. You guys are right, I'm going to stick it out and pray these last 2 weeks fly by. I am dreaming about mashed potatoes at night, now how pathetic is that? LOL, you all are the best and I dont know what I would do w/o your support. Thanks again ! Lisa
