BCBS IL question

Has anyone here been approved in the last year without the 12 month medically supervised diet and if so how did you get them to do it? I am in the process of having my surgeon sending them all of my info. I had my doctor write a letter stating the problems I have and that this surgery is necessary. I am also sending my medical records for the last 10 years. I know that most of you will say to start the diet and I will but I will fight at the same time and even get a lawyer if necessary. I am afraid that in time BCBS IL will exclude WLS just like BCBS FL and other ins companies. If that happens then there is no lawyer that will be able to get them to approve it.

Michael, try putting your question on the main message board. You may get more responses than on the IL board. I think that everyone that is on this board already answered your question that last time you posted.

I was approved a few weeks ago. I submitted a letter - along with my doctor submitting a letter saying it was medically necessary. Dayna
