Walking the Fence on WLS
Hello everyone, This is my 1st time sending a post. I am 100 pnds over weight with a BMI of 42. When I asked my PCP for weight loss help he advised WLS. I didn't know if I should cry or be happy. I have been looking into WLS for over 3 years now. When going through all of the hoops that the insurance puts up I had a person suggest Topamax as a suggestion for weight loss. This was a phsychitrist that I had to go to for the insurance. She advised that she had a PT that lost 80 pnds in 6 months on Topamax. My PCP would not give it to me. So, I went to another PCP that did. I lost 20 pnd rather quickly on it. But..... Now I am at stop on weight loss and have been for 2 months now.I just wanted to say that I guess I was giving the Topamax a try before doing surgery. I have all of my paper work into the WSL center. I was just waiting to see it that was what I really wanted to do......... I just want to be healthy for my children and my self...... Thanks for listening!
