GHP Coventry insurance

Hi everyone, I have been coming to the board for a long time and reading all of your posts. I have been contemplating surgery for about 1 year now, i finally got the nerve to call insurance company to find out if they covered RNY surgery in my plan and was told "NO, my company chose not to add that into the policy." My question is, is that it? I am not covered or is there a way around that? Has anyone come across this situation before? thanks for any help you can give me. Adrienne

Adrienne, You should take a look at the book you got from your insurance company. I haven't been approved yet but I have been told that if your policy states that WLS is excluded then I think you are out of luck. If that is the case can you get different insurance? Good luck Mike
