okay, i know tracy siad im not at a plaute but something is definately up here. for 3wks now i havent lost a lb but i am loosing inches, roughly at least 1in in 2 or more places at a time. So my question is why arent the lbs reflecting it. I'm at 200 right now and approaching my 3month on the 6th. Ive lost 46lb since surgery 50 total. I do know i need to start exercising more, seems everytime i get on a schedual something happens, like beks getting sick, going out of town or something. I am finding this the hardest to keep up. Even when i am exercising regularly the weight loss slows down since muscle weighs more than fat. Aside from that not sure what im doing, im eating protien, (i think enough). What is going on here? Is this normal, i seem to be loosing slow as it is. Please offer any advice, Thanks Giovanna

Remember you were a "Lightweight" going in to this surgery. Your weight won't come off as fast as we'd like it to, because of that factor. As long as your losing inches you shouldn't really worry. I just got out of my 3wk plateau. Mine was a plateau because I wasn't even losing inches. Now, my pants are loose. I still haven't weighed myself because i'm striking on weighin myself. Your doing fine. I wouldn't worry about it, as long as you are losing inches. Remember we are only 3 months post-op. Your gonna lose the weight eventually, besides your almost at your goal. Gracie

Gio, don't sweat this it will pass. A true plateau is when you do not loose ANY weight or inches for 30 days. MUSCLE DOES NOT WEIGH MORE THAN FAT. Muscle is denser than fat and it just is that muscle takes up less space than fat. Remember one pound of fat weighs the same as 1 pound of muscle it is just that the volume of fat vs muscle, the fat is much more. I hope you understood that explaination. Just let your clothing be your guide, if it is getting looser then you are getting thinner even if the numbers on the scale are not moving a real lot. Just ask yourself when was the last time that you lost almost 50# in 3 months? And think of this, you now have a tool to help you keep it off. This is the time when you are at the 3 month mark to take a good look at your eating habits because you are going to find that you are going to be able to eat more and some foods that you did not think that you can eat you are now eating. Take a real long look at your daily disciplines and make sure you are using your tool correctly.

Gio, you and I went into this thing at almost the same weight and date. I, too, was stuck for 3 weeks, and couldn't figure out why. So far, I've only lost 35 pounds, but then I remind myself, that's 35 pounds that I don't have to carry around anymore. I'm able to wear stuff I haven't worn in a few years, and the scale finally started going down again the other day. Don't let it get to you, I kept comparing myself to you after the surgery and beating myself because I hadn't lost as much as you. But you know what? It doesn't matter, this isn't a contest and we're no where near done losing yet. You're doing great and you'll continue to do so. So there! Terry
