My Workout At Home-Comments?

This is just an example:
I was on my elliptical for 34.19 min today mostly at level 4-5... this is all my knees can handle even though it is a great, super low-impact machine.
I burned 501 calories, 165 fat calories, and went about 1.4 mi.
Is this wimpy? Am I actually benefiting from this short workout?
I was just wondering if there are any exercise guru's out there with a comment?
When I go to the gym(3 times a week) I get on the elliptical there for 30 min, do some weights for 1/2 hr., then I swim for 20-30min.
