I Quit My Job!!!(venting)

I have worked at the local country club since moving to Illinois 5 years ago. In December they asked me to bartend 2 nights a week and I agreed to just until they found another bartender. Since then I have had a member offer me money for sex, another member got really drunk and started ranting and cursing at me, then about 2 weeks ago, another member was drunk and wouldn't leave he started yelling that we should post our hours, so I picked up the membership booklet to show him that they were posted and he shoved me and told me st stay the *** away from him. I had to call the police to get him out of there. Since then, I have only worked in the restaurant side. Saturday morning, the girlfriend of the guy that pushed me came in and got really nasty with me. At that point I told my boss that no amount of money was worth this abuse and that I would be leaving and not returning. This country club is owned by the members, so in essence they all are my boss, and believe me, they don't let you forget it!!! I feel like a 120 pound weight has been lifted off my shoulders!! I have never quit a job before, and will hopefully never have to again. I am pretty sure that under these cir****tances, that they will have to pay me unemployment until I find another job. Unemployment told me that I need to bring in the police report and the incident reports. They told me that I would more than likely win my case. I have also considered getting a laywer, but am not sure that I really want to drag this out. I am just happy not to be working there anymore. Thank you all for letting me vent. Dawn I am not a sue happy type but I would do what unemployment says, make a police report of what happened especially the member offering money for sex!!! that is sexual harrasment!!! its illegal regardless of where you are working!!! If you get a lawyer trust me they will not let it get dragged out, the country club will settle they don't want their name or their members names dragged through the mud. My ex husband worked at one he's a chef, I also use to be a chef the only female in the kitchen at a huge 5 star resort, I was harrassed right and left if sexual harrassment was known back then the way it is now i would have sued! Hey Dawn, I certainly hope that everything works out for you! I would at the very least consult a lawyer regarding what happened to you. It's a shame that some people think they can treat others like dirt and get away with it. (((((((((Hugz))))))))) Cathy
