I have a consultation date
well I have a cuncultation date. I started to look into the surgery last year around May. I have BCBS and at that time I was told by the surgical group that BCBS requires a 12 month supervised diet. Of course i have dragged my feet and havent started it. I their office today and of course was told the same thing. I continued to tell the nurse about being diabetic and suffering with Diabetic neuropathy. I also have high blood pressure. I was diagnosed in 97 with the diabeties and within several months i developed neuropathy. At first my doctor didnt believe that I had it because I was young but with some extensive testing it turned out that I do have it. It seems that I must have been diabetic for many years before then.
The nurse thinks that if my doctor writes a gooood letter stating my problems and that I need this surgery to prevent any more problems that I have a good chance of having BCBS approve me.
I sure hope this works.
