Just lost my Medicaid

Well I was notified today I have lost my medicaid, so now I have no health insurance. I took a second job so I could keep a roof on my kids heads clothes and food...and the state has awarded me with cutting me off... If I could get a full time job with insurance I would take it in a heart beat... I"m so depressed now, my asthma medication costs me 500 a month!! my surgeons follow up is 320 a visit... So do I quit job 2 and have less and make my kids go back to eating ramen noodles for dinner everynight or allow my health to go in the ****ter? I did submit my resume to a few places today maybe something will come up and I can find a full time job... I wonder why I bothered to spend 4 years in college???? I go into the computer field and can't find **** for employment ... I would be better off being a professional welfare mother... hell I should have had 10 kids and live off the state instead of working my ass off to do better... I just needed the medicaid till I got something full time with benefits, so now the state cuts off a single parent with 3 kids because I am making 500 to much a month!!! Ok no more pity party, I guess the bright side is I got my surgery and maybe I wont need my asthma meds to much longer... that will eliminate that, and maybe Dr. Freds office will let me make payments on my visit... I just will refuse to get sick!!! of course after I get rid of this pnuemonia I have Thanks guys for listening I just want to cry but I am not going to let this get me down I will just get out there pound the streets and find something full time even if its not in my field! Sucks, doesnt it!?!? YOURE working to make things better, not to stay on Medicaid forever...and they give you ****while someone who sits home on his/her ass gets rewarded. How is this supposed to be working, again???? I think it SUCKS.

Well that just sucks bigtime. I hope that everything works out for you quickly. If it helps, I don't have to take my Advair inhaler anymore and I really haven't used my rescue inhaler but once until I got sick last week. Good luck to you!! Cathy

This system we have BLOWS!! My father ran off when I was 8, leaving 3 of us with my mother who had breast cancer at the time so we were on public Aid our whole childhood......I tracked my father down when I was 21. My mother was gonna sue for back child support and the state wanted to get paid back EVERYTHING they had spent on us but wanted us to cover the lawsuit fees!!! NOT!!

Boy does it BLOW!! I know what you mean about the lawsuit fees. I sued my ex-husband for child support because they would not help me when I was on public aid and I had to pay all the bills and then after I was awarded the child support, they decided they wanted to be paid back and keep what they want when they want it!! I think we all need to get together and fight the system we have for us hard working people. Shelley

sorry about grammer don't lose hope what you need to do is apply for family kare. In illinois if you are a family making less then i think it is like 35,000 you can get family care. it use to be kid care but they expanded it for the whole family you will have a copay like maybe 3 daollars for medicine and you might have a monthly premium which is like 25.00 it really depends on what you make. you can call them and do the application on the phone. It is one of the least utilized program in illinois and they will most likely take you exp if medicaid bump you off go to il.gov and look for kid care. at least it is worth a try. You are doing the right thing working to support your family don't give in to the system.
