Everyday is getting better!
That's good that you are up moving around. Walk short spurts if possible. As far as the housework goes I would wait until it doesn't hurt to get out of the chair. Remember you can create a incisional hernia if your not careful. I got my first hernia BEFORE I left the hospital. They don't help you get out of bed and the straining caused a small hernia that now after 18 months has taken on a life of it's own, it's monstrous. So please do be careful.
It was at least two months before I started doing anything really heavy. At six weeks I was doing water aerobics. Hope this helps.

Daisy,
The doctor will let you know when you can back to doing housewor****il then, don't do anything that causes undo bending, straining or lifting. Let your husband do it, or let the house sit. It's not like the president is coming to visit, so don't worry about it. Seems like when I went back for my 2 week visit, he said I could load the dishwasher but no vacuuming. You don't want a hernia, so take it easy.
Terry
Hey girl!!
Glad to hear you are doing well.
I did some light house cleaning the other day but I took it really slow and I made sure I didnt bend over really fast or pull things around. I vacuumed the bathroom that we have our kitty's potty in
...and the living room/dining room. I made sure I ROLLED the vacuum...didnt pick it up and I moved slowly back and forth with the vacuum so I wouldnt have any jerking motions on my tummy. Just don't rush into anything and take your time. Remember you just had major surgery and you need to allow your body time to heal.
If you get bored and you feel up to it sometime soon give me a shout and we'll go down to the river front or south park and go for a walk (weather permitting
)
~hugs~
