Lent Question
Ok I have been really struggling with what to give up for lent?? I mean heck I dont smoke, drink, eat candy, I dont have sex but thats not really by choice! So I dont know what to give up... I have thought about instead of giving up, giving.. as in maybe make it my morning practice to say an "Our Father" and "Hail Mary" every morning.
I just dont know what to do!!! What can I give up that I havent already given up for surgery?
My mom "the snatch woman" says the prayer thing is a good Idea...
Anyone agree or disagree?

Hi Debby
I think that's a great idea. IMHO giving something up is only a part of what people can do for Lent. I was just reading an article about Lent and pennance and giving the other day.
I was down your way yesterday ... gorgeous weather and I just had to take a drive! I'm goin' to the Fox tonight for Les Miz woohoo!
Hope you have a good rest of the weekend

Thanks Cathy!! I am a single parent I work over 70 hours aweek at two jobs.. I know there's more I could do chartity etc. but with my work schedule its hard.. the only day off I have is SUnday and I already donate time to my church helping out there with the school etc. So I was trying to come up with something that would give me some peace of mind also..
I hope you enjoy Les Miz I hear its fantastic!!

You can give up time for yourself and help others, like a charity, help at church or a hospital, your neighbors. Prayer is fine, but the bible says that we should be doing that anyways. Lent is about sacrifice. I do not want to get into a discussion on religion because of the rules, but I am a strong believer in God.
