Approved - Sort of...
I just spoke to BCBS Federal. My paperwork is in and looks OK. They don't pre-certify, but they sent a letter saying I meet their qualifications.
The last of my tests/consults has been scheduled next week (EDG, psychologist, dietician, cardiologist) so....unless a test reveals a problem I should be good to go on 3/8.
So...now is it OK to start to set post-surgery goals???--scuba dive, ice skate, horse ride (if I did it now I'd be on a PETA hit list). Even something mundane like not pre-tie my shoes. OOh, and cool cloths - tight blue jeans and a leather duster - a black suit coat over a Radiohead t-shirt -- oh, and a morning jacket with tails!
Probably, I'll end up with a light blue leisure suit.
But it's nice to dream!

Yes, start making your post op dream list RIGHT NOW. Not only will it give you things to look forward to in the 5 or so days you feel like you've been run over....but as you check things off your list, as your journey progresses, you'll be able to feel a sense of accomplishment, even when the pounds slow down in coming off. I, for one, have met nearly all of my pre op goals, and way more than I'd have ever expected. My husband still hasnt picked me up, but thats more because I still see 242 pounds sometimes because of the extra skin and so forth.
Anyway, dream away...because you can ACHEIVE ANYTHING you can dream!!!!

Uhh I think my dad's still got a leisure suit in the back of his closet somewhere ... want me to see if he'll give it up so you can model it for us all post-op?
