Murphy Support Question

I am from southern Illinois and I am waiting for insurance approval... everything else is done and I'm just waiting and waiting.... I was excited to see a support group in our area... Can anyone tell me about it? Who runs it? Where is the meeting? How often? Who comes? I have been a "lurker" on Obesityhelp for over a year.. and I have very much appreciated all the postings and profiles I have read... I have gathered alot of information here and I hope to be a success story here...myself!! One Day.... I'm still waiting and waiting (: ha ha.... thank you in advance for any information "N"

HI N!! IA M ALSO FROM SOUTHERN ILLINOIS JOHNSTON CITY TO BE EXACT. THE MEETING IS THE 2ND THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH. IT IS AT ST JOES HOSPITAL IN THE CAFETERIA FROM 6-8. I AM ALSO WAITING FOR INSURANCE APPROVAL MY ISSUE IS MUCH MORE COMPLICATED I HAVE HMO IF THAT TELLS YOU ANYTHING. I HAVE ONLY GONE TO THE MEETING 1 TIME BUT I WILL BE GOING EVERY MONTH. I FELT LIKE I ACTUALLY BELONGED IN A GROUP OF PEOPLE, EVERYONE IS VERY NICE AND PEOPLE FROM VIENNA, CARBONDALE, ZEIGLER ALL SURROUNDING AREAS ARE THERE. EVERYONE IS SO SUPPORTIVE AND NO QUESTION IS STUPID AND YOU CAN SAY EXACTLY HOW I FEEL. I AM NOT SURE WHO RUNS THE MEETING THE PERSON AT LAST MONTH MEETING WAS NOT THE USUAL PERSON. Hi "N" I am waiting to meet with the surgeon, and also for insurance approval. Like Nanette I have only been to the meeting one time and plan on attending from here on out. Everyone was and is very nice. Finally for once I can walk in a room of people and not be afraid to talk and ask questions, or feel as if I am being judged due to my weight. Hey ladies! I like to hear that our group is growing! The woman that runs the group normally is named Dawn Lowe. When you go, she will ask you to write down your email address so that she can send you a reminder that the meeting is coming up. They have a group sight on yahoo, but I don't remember exactly how to get to it. I think you can go to yahoo groups and then look for gastric bypass southern illinois and probably find it. I try to make it as often as I can. I am now 10 months out, 137lbs down and past my doc's goal for me. I go back to him today and expect him to put me on maintenance eating. We'll see!
