Plastics cost...:(

Ok....got my packet from Fenner's office today. I'm pretty down. The total cost for my abdominoplasty, panni, mastopexy, hernia repair, medial thigh lipo and augmentation is 18,000. It looks like, from what I understand on the estimate that my part would be around 12,000 There is no way in HELL I can afford that, not in a million years. Not with tuition, etc. So now I have to decide whether I want to have the hernia repair and panni that ins will pay for, and let everything else go, or not do anything at all. I feel like crap. I've lost all my excess weight....and now I'm left looking deformed. I know some people might think "Hey..at least youre thin" but to tell you the truth, I think my body image is worse now than when I was fat My only hope is that my insurance will take pity on me and cover the lift and aug. Or at least the lift. Isnt that reconstructive??? You wouldnt believe how bad having just droopy skin where your boobs are supposed to be makes you feel about yourself. On the bright side, my WLS surgeon's office estimated that my part of the gastric bypass would be @35-4000.00 and it turned out to be 747.00 So maybe being that ours is a self-funded plan will work to my advantage. Please keep your fingers crossed. I'd ask you to pray, but I'll reserve that for more life-threatening situations. I'll feel better after I clean my house, I'm sure. Maybe I'm just a whiner today, but this is NOT how I wanted to start my week off. :Love you guys

Feedle, you're too funny! Kathy and I may be doing a Fundraiser together, because we have the same self funded insurance..lol On a serious note, Kathy don't get so down yet. Our insurance hasn't let us down on anything yet. You may be surprised at what they will pay for. Why don't you call and talk to them yourself. That is what you did last time and got good results. Well sweetie I know your down, I think focusing on what you can have done for now, then see down the road about the rest... Of course you could apply to extreme make over see what happens... Also I had heard about a website that helps make wishes come true for average joe's or should I say Janes like us... I will do some research and see what I find... I know they pay for bypass surgeries for some people or at least that is what I had heard... Keep your chin up... we could have a telethon... or I am seriously thinking about putting my kids in front of walmart with can's trying to raise money for mom's tata's or for the boys home... the boys home might be better though since they are boys and they do have a home??? also there is a finance company that will finance this kind of thing if you want I will ask my friend Cheryl they paid for her boobs and she pays like 150 a month... Sorry about your bad news - but the idea of a Boob-a-thon might be worth pursuing. Odd appeals sometimes work. Especially if the media gets a hold of it. "New Boobs or Bust." Maybe raffle off an IPOD. Have a party at a bowling alley. How can you say no to someone asking to help fill a C cup? Make it funny and a bit tongue in cheek. It might work. Oh, my this is a fantastic price for all those procedures! I was going to pay $16.000 for a modified circumferential lower body lift and then 3-6 months later they would do the upper abdominal area. My surgeries had to be done this way because of other major surgeries I have had in the area and I cannot have a traditional abdominalplasty. I had to temporarily postpone my surgeries because of a major thyroid issue but when I am able to I will be doing my surgeries. If you shop around somemore you will find that those prices are pretty darn good.
