rockford support groups?

Hello, I am moving to rockford soon and am looking to find a support group to join. Anyone have any suggestions for me? I am almost nine months post-op and doing wonderful (-114) and want to continue my success! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Also, any horseback riding in the area? Thanks! Lisa

Dear Lisa, Hello,and congrats on your success.I was born and raised in Rockford.I live in Loves Park(2 min. from Rockford).I had surgery 11/30/04 in Belvidere(20 min.East of Rockford).We have a great support group in Belvidere at Barix Clinic(NW Sububan Community Hosp).I would like to invite you to join us.We meet at 7pm on the 2nd monday of every month.The meetings are free.The nurse who works on the floor(she's had surgery ,also) runs the group.We have appropriate snacks,a speaker,and most of all,fun and friendships.We are at all different stages of recovery.We also have a dietician present at all meetings.If you would like to contact me,I'll give you my personal phone number. Lisa, I belong to 2 groups, one is the Barix group where I had my surgery, and that Paula and Brooke also attend. It's the 2nd Monday of every month at Barix clinic, at 6:30. The other one is the OSF group, that meets in at the OSF Medical building on the last Monday of the month at 7:00. If you're interested in either one, just let me know. Terry
