OT...Wheelchair accessible vans

Anyone have info on this? My friends' son has Spina Bifida and just got a wheelchair...do they need to buy a van already equipped or where would they go to get a lift installed?? They already own a van but it OLD so I'm pushing for them to get a new one...does Insurance cover any of that?? Crap!! I think they have public aid. Please let me know. Jen

I'm not 100% but I think that public aid may have a program where they can help them out with getting a van already equipped/ or with getting one installed. I know they have a program down here or did that if you need repairs on your vehicle and you are working, they will pay for so much of it or something of the sorts. If they dont do anything like that, I"m sure they could point you in a great direction.
