Anyone going to the Wish Center support mtg next week?

Just wondering if anyone here is going to the Wish Center meeting next Thursday? I am planning on going. Thanks! Tracy

Tracy, I was planning on going. They have a new format now. I did not make it to last months support. To be perfectly honest with you I was starting to find the support groups boring. If you are 18+ months out there is a different support group to go to. Christine

I have only been to 2 since my surgery (bad girl!!! ) But, I am trying to go at least every couple of months. The holiday party stunk, and I left early to go Christmas shopping at Oak Brook Mall!!! I will look for you there! Tracy

Tracy, I agree with you about the Holiday party, it sucked! The Holiday party in '03 was great, a lot more people, better food, great exchange. I should have thought about going shopping myself, damm! Anyways, I think that WISH is hurting financially just like any other bariatric surgeons office, insurance is being so tough now on getting the surgery approved. I did hear that WISH only gets a 50% return on patients that follow through with surgery after the first appointment. I heard this out of Kerrie Kren's own mouth I think at the October meeting, whatever meeting she last did the presentation at. Christine

I thought you could only go if you had surgery through them. I'm looking for a local support group can someone e-mail me the info. I know theres a Wish Center right up the road from my house. Thanks Giovanna

Gio, you can go to WISH support groups but they charge you. it is something new since last fall. I think the cost is $799 for a year of support groups. It is steep I know. Christine

Thanks, I will check into it since i do need to find one. My dr. has one but on a night i cant go. I'll have to work on the money thing im medicare and pa. Giovanna
