how long off work after surgury???

Hi, just curious, what is the average length of time before you can return to work after a lap RNY? I know it varies with each individual and your doctor, and of course the kind of work you do. thanks all Kristi

I went back at 3wks post-op. My job is relatively sedentary, though.. I was out and about in the city (walking and shopping) at two weeks, however... but I needed a BIG NAP when I got home each time! Stef

I was back at my (desk) job in 2 weeks, felt fine but had some back pain later on that went away in a few weeks, I still think it had something to do with my chair!

Hello Kristi We'll I'm almost 8weeks out and I'm still OFF work. My doctor put a 15lb. restriction and I had a meeting yesterday with my HR department. Let's just say they encouraged me to stay home because they didn't want me to be put in danger. But to be honest, I really do miss work...(DUCKS FOR CHAIRS) Sorry. Hopefully you won't be stuck home. I'm bored out of my mind. Pedicures everyweek is a little extreme already..LOL. Take care and Good LUck. Gracie
