WHAT IF YOU CANT AFFORD THE $500, SO I WAS TOLD THAT DR OLIPHANT WAS GOOD AND WAS AT CARLE CLINIC AND I WAS REMEMBERING AT THE SUPPORT GROUP MEETING JUST ABOUT EVERYONE WAS GOING TO HIM. HOW DOES HIS PROGRAM WORK? DOES HE REQUIRE ALOT OF PREOP TESTING AND DOES HE REQUIRE YOU TO LOSE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF WEIGHT BEFORE SURGERY? IF ANYBODY COULD GIVE ME ANY HELP ABOUT THIS I WOULD BE VERY GREATFUL AND THEN I WILL QUIT MY ******G AND WHINEING LOL. NANETTE

I didnt have to pay for anything up front. The ONLY thing I have had to pay for was my psych eval. And that was my own choice.Because I'm impatient and wanted it done yesterday.lol Not only is Dr. O the bariatric surgeon, he is also a trauma surgeon over there. And to me, that is a most definate plus in my books. Makes me feel more comfortable in my decision in having him as my surgeon. He makes sure you understand what you are getting yourself into and the risks involved. But if you've already researched this, none of it is new. Just kind of wakes you up that your SURGEON is telling you that. Makes that a little more real. DOES HE REQUIRE ALOT OF PREOP TESTING AND DOES HE REQUIRE YOU TO LOSE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF WEIGHT BEFORE SURGERY? I'm not sure what all is required, I will find that out when I go on March 7th I'm assuming. But some of the people I have been talking to that have went to him, havent had to have anything major. Bloodwork, ekg. Someone said that he will let your pcp decide what is needed. But I could of swore that he told me that they have a dr there that will decide. I wasnt required to lose any weight before surgery. Not that I've been told so far at least. lol After surgery you will see him at 1 week,2weeks, 1 month, 3 months and every 3 months after that for the first year. You are on 2 weeks of full liquids, then another 4 weeks of blended/purreed diet. If there is anything else you need to know, you are more than welcome to e-mail me and we can talk over the phone or via internet. Your choice. hope this helped a little bit.

I agree with what you say about Eagon's office. When I called there, I got the run a round and they were very rude. I have UHC and work for WASH U too and they would not even start the paperwork with insurance because our policy has an exclusion on it. NO CHANCE FOR APPEAL. Really mad me mad. Now I am trying to get in with Dr. Wagner. I heard Dr. Oliphant is awesome. GOOD LUCK
