GBP/LGBP Sugar Question

Hello...just me again...Newbie with a zilliion and one questions.... I am reading this book Weight Loss Surgery by April Hochstrasser and it is a really great book and very informative.... So here is my Question: I hear sugar is a bad thing after the surgery! I read about the problems when you over indulge w/sugar. Do you have the same problem when it comes to sugar substitues like Splenda? TIA (thanks in advance) xoxoxoxjenn

Hi Jenn I don't have a problem at all with Splenda, but one must always watch out for sugar alcohols found in many sugar free products. Yikes! Cathy

There is no guarentee that a RNY patient will have dumping syndrome after they have had surgery. My husband had open RNY as I did and he dumps at the drop of a hat and I do not dump. Splenda is fine for him, he doesn't have a problem with it.
