I feel really upset right now. I know part of it is the damn hormones, but I feel like I'm failing at the almost infallible diet. I know I shouldn't compare myself to others, but it seems like so many are losing faster than me. I follow the directions, no drinking with meals, three minutes between each bite. No food with more than ten grams of fat or two of sugar. So why does it seem like this is taking so long?! I eat an average of 500 calories a day! I know I'm burning way more than that... and now WHY AM I SO HUNGRY? It's so intense... I'm on soft foods now, but I'm eating whatever is here in this apartment (within my my requirements) , I have $1.41 in my checking account to last me until the 31st. I have some groceries but you can only live off of lean hamburger patties and sugar free pudding for so long.. I'm sorry to whine to everyone, but thanks for being there to listen.

500 calories is almost nothing.. your body thinks it's starving and is hanging onto what it has stored.. it will burn and get rid of muscle at that caloric intake before it'll get rid of fat. Try upping your calories a little bit.. dont' worry so much about the number of calories you're taking in right now.. pay more attention to when you're satisfied with an eye on how much fat/carb/calories you ingest.. and more water. You need way more water than 30oz a day... you'll get dehydrated and land back in the hospital. This isn't a diet, hon.. this is your life now. Treat it that way. Stef

it is ok to whine just realize that itis head hunger and it is ok to eat but it is more important to get in the water and the protein.Are you drinking any shakes? It was difficult at night for me and i would often have protein fortified jello with ff cool whip and then I would sip on my water. I hope this helps !!!! Also cottage cheese with applesauce mixed in it is a great protein boost. Call me at work if you need a pep talk.

Hi Brooke Don't get so upset.Ypu have the rest of you life to loose as long as your walking ,getting your protien and water it will come.It took me all week to loose 1 pound.i'm eating 2 protien shake 2 atkins yogert there 13 protien each and a soup to go and a little dinner.If i get hungry i have another soup to go.well good luck and cheer up.i'm on my way to the ymca i going to try for 2 miles today.vent anytime.jeff streator IL

HI Brooke. We'll I dont' come on the ILLINOIS messagboard much. I know I probably should but anywho. I'm sorry you feel this way. Don't worry, I am with you about this weightloss thing. I see people losing like 15pds in a week. In the past TWO weeks, I've only lost 8pds. What's wrong with this picture. I used to feel hungry too. That is until I started drinking my protein drink in the morning. Then about an hour or two when I started getting hungry, I hit the bottle (Crystal lite classic orange, that is) and I wouldn't get hungry. Now if after drinking liquids maybe 16oz or 20oz. you find that your stomach IS in fact still growling, then yes its in fact TRUE HUNGER. Then have a cheese stick or something. I can't eat meat until I'm 6months out, so consider yourself very lucky. I wish you lived closer. I could take you grocery shopping for a few items ... hey we all need a hand sometimes right? Brooke, Something tells me that your mother doesn't know you only have $1.41 in your checking account. Try and get a shake in if you can, ALL of your water, and if you need some stuff, let me know and we'll go shopping, OK? Terry

keep your head up. I am still preopt and feel where your comming from for me it seems the more i think about eating the right way and what to do then the more hungry i am. try sitting down with eyes closed for a couple min when you feel hungry but you ate enough. Or better yet get a protien shake from what i have read your not getting enough protien. and you need more calories your burning and not eating so body thinks your starving. hope that helps have a better day.
