I finally conocted a protein shake I can drink! I know I'm not supposed to drink water until 30 minutes after I've eaten, but does that go for shakes too. I mean if I take a drink of shake and then am thirsty do I have to wait the thirty minutes to drink again, or can I drink since the shake is liquid anyway? Thanks

Brooke: My doctor and nutritionist said that you can have both at the same time. The protein shake is considered as part of your fluid intake. You might want to ask your team of experts, though. All doctors/nutritionists are not alike. Andrea

I asked the exact same question two weeks ago at my last doc visit. I thought...Hmm... we're doing these protein shakes and then I get thirsty and drink some crystal lite does my protein wash away?? She said NO. It's fine and does count as your daily intake. Of course, that's the opinion of my Dietician. So who knows...I've noticed on here every surgeon and their teams work really REALLY different. Gracie 270/237-as of two weeks ago
