update

Hi everyone!! For anyone that didn't see my post in response to Brooke's post yesterday......my liver ultra sound results were good and I got the OK for surgery!! I got a call today that I'm to be at the hospital at 5:30am Tuesday morning. I'm Dr. Vaughns first patient that day . I told the nurse I sure hope he gets a good night sleep and is more awake then I am at that time of the morning lol. So everything is a go! We'll be leaving some time Monday...probably later in the day to stay in a hotel close to the hospital and then its off to surgery Tuesday morning. I'll post again Monday before I go but in the mean time I just wanted to thank everyone for all their encouragement, support, love and friendship. You guys are all the best and I'm so grateful to have you all in my life. THANK YOU!!! Have a great weekend everyone!!! ~hugs~ Konni

My Advice... if you think you'll want to eat it later... eat it now!! Ha ha Seriously though you are going to do fabulous! I was the first one to go too! I was joking too... when he came in the room I asked him if he was a morning person! He said "oh yeah". He seemed like he was really enjoying it! When you go in to the Emergency Room entrance they will take a Urine Sample and then show you to your room. You get to slip into one of the sexy hospital gowns. Then about 20 minutes later they come and get you and take you to pre op. You say good by to everyone then. Then you go meet a nice lady who puts in your IV and makes you drink some awful stuff. They they take you into the operating room you meet about 5 people you wont remember later and then they drug you and you'll wake up in recovery. Dr Vaughn will hold your hand until you are asleep. Then you'll wake up again in your room and your family can come see you. The morphine drip is nice and all the staff are really really nice. Everything will be great! Of course Terry and I will be there to see you on Wednesday!
