Had most of my pre-op testing in ST Louis yesterday. It took all day. I have to go back to see a cardiologist tomorrow. Does everyone have to see a cardiologist as pre-op testing? I am liquid fasting now. Ready to get this show on the road. Pam

Dear Pam I didn't have to see a cardiologist but I did have to do an EKG prior to the surgery and if anything showed there then I would have had to have seen a cardiologist. Good luck on your journey. The big day will be fast approaching. God Bless you. Andrea

Hi Pam, Yes, I had to see a cardiologist as part of my surgical journey. He was involved in the pre-op approval and testing. He checked me for breathing problems and sleep apnea and also prescribed my blood thinners post op (I was in the Lovenox study -- 1x/day, 10days). It actually helped put my mind at ease that a cardiologist was involved in the process.. every thing they knew about me pre-op helped them with my post-op care.. and particularly during my operation -- they knew what to expect. Congratulations on your coming new life! Stef Lap RNY 11/12/04 390 -> 349 -> 175

Hi Stef, Good point. I never looked at it like that. I should be comforted too. I was told I am to expect about a 4 hour testing tomorrow. Checking for blockages. Sounds serious but safe........ Thanks again, Pam
