MY QUESTION IS ABOUT THE LAP BAND

WHO HAS GONE TO DR SHAYANI. WHAT IS HE/SHE LIKE? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET APPOINTMENT AND SURGERY? I AM GOING TO THE COMP CLINIC BUT I AM STARTING TO THINK MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE THE LAP BAND( I AM GETTING REAL SCARED OF COMPLACATIONS ) MAYBE BECAUSE I WAS LOOKINGAT ALL PEOPLE WHO HAVE PASSED.

Hi Deliah You can ask at the COMP clinic about the Lap Band, too. I do believe that Dr. Sutyak either has started or is going to start doing them. Whatever you do, research, research, research There's also a lap band forum on OH here if you'd like to ask more questions. I know there are some posters on the IL boards who've had been banded, just thought you could widen your opportunity for responses there too Best wishes, Cathy

I had the lap banding by Dr. Shayani I went to the seminar on May 10th, and had surgery 4 months later, so I think that was VERY quick! You can rean my profile if you like for better details, and if you have any questions please feel free to ask away! Amanda

Deliah well the choice to band or not is yours , and yes how scary is that memorial page!!! But look at all of us who are doing awesome after the RNY... I was going to do the lap band too but I had to many existing issues with my stomach that I just wasnt a good candidate for the lap band. ..... I initially was going to go to Dr. Shayani, he's a very nice man and knows what he's doing.... Debby

thanks for the answer I am really just researching I just feel if I can get great results without the intense complications. I have 2 young kids and I am not ready for them to have to be without me.

Deliah, one thing check to be sure public aid will pay for the fills... Amanda and I both are on it and I am not sure, I had heard they wont... Email Amanda and ask her she would be able to tell you for sure... and if they dont she might now what they cost... Debby
