I got my results today. I do have sleep apnea. I go back on Monday night for CPAP Titration. I hope it makes a difference in my energy level. They said sense I did not go into REM sleep the study was not really good, but I did have apneas and hypopneas and probably would of showed even more it I would of gotten into Rem. My O2 sat dropped into the 70's a couple of times. I had 70 arousals in 5 hours. A lot of the repoert I do not understand. I hope I can sleep better for the Titration. Shelli

I just had my second sleep study, basically everything the same as you. I know now what my cpap numbers will be, it is just a waiting game for the doctors appointment and getting the machine. I slept much better the second time. I think that I knew what to expect and went in with a better attitude. I also asked for the TV to be left on, as that is how I fall asleep at home. They were very accomodating and did not have any problem with that. It really helped. Good luck, Nancy

I asked this question also at my intial surgury consult. And my doctor, said no, they wouldn't be doing a sleep study. Chances are, yes I do have sleep apnea, most overweight people do have sleep apnea. But if I've been without a cpap or bipap machine preop, won't be needing it after the weight is gone, so they consider it a waste of money to test for something they know you have

Titration is the process of them basically adjusting the pressure of the air to keep your airway open!! (Your not a dumb bunny) I am not sure how it will affect my surg. process. Jeff I had an awful time sleeping!!! I would get into the 1st and 2nd stages of sleep and then wake up. I had no deep sleep at all!! I am thinking of taking something to help me sleep this time. I hope it helps me to have more energy too!! Keep up the walking and you'll have your strength up in no time! Nancy thanks for sharing with me about your situation!! Good luck to you too. Shelli
