Today I am one month post op. I had to cancel my over an hour away doctor appt. due to the bad roads in my area. However, I do have my own scale that I follow more than the doctor's. I began at 302.5 on Oct. 4, 2004. Then gained to 307 by October 11, 2004. That is when I began my pre-op diet to lose 5% of my weight by doctor's requirements. I succeeded!!! By surgery date of 12/06/04 I had lost to 285......no more 300's for me YAY!!!! Ten days post-op doctor appt. I weighed 280. And today on my scales I am now at 266!!!!!!!!! I don't know how far back to go for total loss, and I don't really care. I just know the weight is going DOWN and the inches are falling off I went from a tight 3x and 26/28, even wearing some 4X shirts when I could find them at Wal-Mart or other inexpensive stores. Now I wear 2X shirts with room in them to spare, and size 22/24 pants. And people say I look like I've lost much more than I have in lbs I have no clothes smaller than those I am wearing now...so the close race is on and how to supply myself in clothes. Probably have another month before I have to worry about it...but then..YUCKY FUN I am very happy, I had OPEN RNY and healed VERY well!!!!!! I am walking fine and even doing chores around the house. People say they don't truly feel good after open until up to 3 months, BUT I feel GREAT and all ready have more energy than I've had in YEARS. Blessings, Katie

It is so awesome to see so many people on the losing side...It gives me more people to watch for when I get to the losing side as well.. p.s try buying clothes at resale while you are losing so much so you don't have to spend too much till you get way down the splurge you ass off

Congrats Katie!! I am very happy for you. Keep up the awesome work!! Did you guys ever think about doing the whole clothing swap thing? I keep reading about how you are all shrinking out of your clothes. Can any of you get together and swap clothes around? I am still not on the loosers side, but will be one day soon. Nancy
