Hi Deliah! I did Curves pre- and post-surgery. I used to do it 45 minutes a day - but the workers used to constantly tell me that you achieve your maximum benefit after 30 minutes. My Curves was $39 a month and I joined at a time that they waived the initiation fee. Curves got really boring for me. My Curves was full of women who go there to socialize rather than work out. Don't get me wrong, I'm a chatty cathy doll come to life, but when the bell rings and its time to switch stations, you better damn well hear it & switch stations. I've had friends that know a decent amount about working out tell me that the machines at Curves (hydraulic machines) don't really work your muscles as well as weighted machines. There is very little cardio - unless you do cardio at the cooling stations (I used to run & do jumping jacks) - but, again, the workers used to keep telling me that the cooling stations were for cooling down & lowering your heart rate. If I wasn't doing the cardio on the cooling stations, I would never even have broken a sweat. Just my two cents worth....email me if you have more specific questions.

Hi Deliah! I don't like Curves. It reminds me of gym class. Stop and Rotate. I have a membership to Womens Workout World which I ADORE. They have machines, weights AND classes and it's $24 a month. $24 because it has childcare. Otherwise it would be $19. I adore it there and I swear I'm gonna go every day once I get caught up on everything. HTH Melissa

Hi Deliah~ I actually work in a tanning salon that is hooked onto a Curves for women, so I go over and chat with them quite frequently(when i'm not busy of course) ha ha I personally think it's only for those women who just want to get a little toned. I used to belong, but I never would break a sweat, and there isn't enough cardio in it, to really do anything, I would think. But some women really like it, b/c it is just for women and they feel more comfortable. Some of my tanners work out and then come tan, and they love it. But I think you just need to try a week free, and see if it would be something for you. I just personally didn't like it. My boss owns it, and he would kill me if he knew I wasn't "talking it up" haha. Hope that helps you a little bit. ~Kerri~
