Anyone get life insurance BEFORE surgery???
Konni,
Don't get me started on insurance companies, because with them, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. If you're overweight, you're a risk; if you have the surgery, you're a risk. What's the difference with having the insurance ahead of time and not telling them you're having surgery? I sure didn't call my insurance company up beforehand to announce it. Let's face it, it's simply a way for them to get out of paying, because that's how they make their money. As my husband says, you're betting you're going to kick the bucket, and the insurance company is betting you're not. ANYTHING that is a risk makes them reluctant to cover you. I agree with everyone else, find a company and don't mention the surgery, period. Good luck!
