I'm so excited!
I know it only a small, small, step toward my surgery, but after 2 1/2 months, I finally have a consultation appointment with my surgeon! It is set for Thursday, February 10th and I can't wait.
Can anyone tell me what to expect at this first appointment? I've already had a sleep study (getting a CPAP tomorrow), psychological evaluation, referral from PCP, worked with dietician, etc. All I can think of that's left is to schedule the surgery. Oh, and get approval from Blue Cross!
Just wanted to share.
Ed

That's great Ed! I'm thinking of you! I know those small steps - all the THOUSANDS of them previous to surgery seem to take forever, but soon it will be here and you'll wonder where the time went!
How are things up there in Bolingbrook???? I haven't been up there in a couple years - my aunt and uncle that lived there moved to Texas. I was born in Naperville, and also have family up there in Wayne and St. Charles!
Hi ED,
I also had to have my surgery at UIC. Is your doctor DR.Vitello? If so your in good hands. I had surgery 8/11/04 and have had no problems and I'm down 100#s since surgery. If fact my husband is scheduled with him on Feb 7,05 for his surgery. If you have BCBS Hmo your PCP will handle all the payments and approvel . All you have to pay are your copays. If you need any info about Dr. V just email me.
Good Luck , Leslie
