Post-OP sex question???

Here is a good question for the post-op people.They say no intercourse for 3 weeks.How long did you make it??TELL THE TRUTH!!!!!!!

Jeff, My surgeon said as soon as we felt up to it, but please wait till you get out of the hospital. So it was 8 days for me, I had a drain so I had to be on top, but I had no pain, did a little loratab first. I say if you are up to it, go for it. D

Luckily for me he hospital room I was in had a lock on he door LOL Geeze I dont remember the last time I had sex but I think if your careful and dont us any gym equipment and stop if it starts to hurt you should be ok .. Good Luck!!!! Debby

Hey Jeff ... the only reason I didn't answer ya is because it never happened I'm STILL waiting. There's a kind of table they use in rehab ... METS ... activity levels. Usually used for post op heart patients ... it says that sex is on the same level as climbing a flight of stairs ... if you can climb a flight of stairs you're in good enough condition (at least your heart is) to have sex. Oh Jeff, honestly, I lost all interest post-op for about 6 weeks. Then, all of a sudden WHAM those hormones kicked in and I was full of energy! Too bad my bleeping husband then had to go have emergengy hernia surgery... now we're back to the waiting game in his court! And his surgeon says 8 weeks!!!!

okay, you want honesty, my dr. siad as soon as i was up to it. Since the person I am seeing lives over an hour away it was 3wks, we spent 4 days together and well, lets just say it left both of us a little sore I will say this though most of my insisions were healed and we were carefull. My husband and I FINALLY re-consumated on SUNDAY...that would be SEVEN WEEKS people!!!!!!!!! IT WAS A LONG WAIT ...but definitely worth it ......several times! He was terrified of rupturing something...meantime *I* was too! But, now that we are past that *hump* I feel better...less tense...waaaay more smiley... Jen
