Debby G I need your help
Anita wow my reputation precedes me!!! LOL
There's a surgeon in Bloomington Indiana that just got Illinois Public Aid providership. His name is Dr. Bradley Ray 812-330-9962 LAP Band Only His people are GREAT!!!!
Dawn Pyles is using him if she doesnt comment to you I will ask her to come post to you..
I will tell you this, if you havent gotten your psyche eval done yet make sure you have a PhD or MD do it. They will not accept a family therapist unless its a PH.d or better.
Make sure that they specifically says YOU ARE BEING RELEASED TO HAVE SURGERY. THey will reject your psyche eval if all the i's arnt doted and T's crossed... so be aware!
Dr. Ray only does the banding not the RNY and as far as I know at this moment there are no other surgeons in that area that take IL PA.
GOod Luck!!! I hope it all goes well with you!!

Debby-
I talked to Kim Knox who is the one *****views our insurance for us through public aid, and I was asking her about the psych eval. She told me that they would we rather not be released from their care in case we would need them for counseling after surgery.
That copy of my psych eval that I had on here, I put it in my profile, was fine. The didnt have me have the psychologist redo it or anything.
I'm not trying to go against what you say, but I got this straight from the horses mouth in Springfield. Just thought I'd let ya know.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!
Lori Kim Knox is great, unfortunately she's not the one who makes the decision, the Doctor at IPA does, he rejected mine specifiically because i was not released for surgery. (I hope that didnt sound snotty LOL it wasnt meant too)
The big problem with IPA is NO ONE knows what the others are doing, one doctor will reject the pre auth that another doctor will allow... GO FIGURE!!!
I think its best to be prepared either way...
I hope you have a great New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Debby
I gotcha. I didnt realize that. No, you didnt sound snotty either.
I didnt really get the whole thing with Public Aid, I've just been going with the flow. I'm glad I didnt get rejected the first time, because I'm sure I probably would have just given up. I dont take rejection very well..lol
Thank You for setting me straight.lol
I had a great new year, tried to get drunk last night, but had 3 drinks and was finished. I can definately do with out. I wont miss that at all.lol
Hope your new years eve went well and you have a great one too!! I think we all will this year! We have alot to look forward to and to be greatful for.
Well Lori just BE PREPARED... this is how it works at PA
1) you submit your papers, a prelim person looks at it if all is there you get approved
2) then the doctor looks at it for final confirmation. If he thinks anything is off he will reject it...
I was approved got a date (same with michelle) then a week later the doc rejected both our psyche evals saying we were never discharged from our psych's care..
Funny thing I was never technically UNDER THE SUPERVISION of a psychatrist... I went for an evaluation so why do they need a "release" It makes no sense even my brother said it was nuts.... Oh well
Just be mentally prepared for them to come back and reject your eval... I can still happen.. I dont want to put you in a down mood and it may not happen depends on which doctor gets your packet.
Good luck sweetie your in my thoughts!!!
Debby
ewww, that sucks. You would think that the first set of people that look at it would be the final word.
How do they get a hold of you? Do the send you another notice in the mail or let the drs office know?
No, your not getting me down, I'm glad that your being honest with me. It just sucks that they can do that. And hopefully if they are going to do it, they do it SOON. Not like a week or 2 before my surgery date. I'd probably go postal on someone..lmao
Thanks for letting me know! I really appreciate know what to expect.
If it happens you got plenty of time to fix it so I wouldnt worry about it and usually they will notify Dr/ O's office I didnt even know until I went up for my pre-op lab stuff... But since the person that did my eval works with me it was easy to fix So dont worry but dont freak out if they come back and reject it... obviously I had my surgery...
