Smoking

Does anyone or did anyone smoke at the time of there surg.? I am trying to quit. I want to quit before my appt. at the comp clinic. But I am afraid I will gain weight when they want me to be loosing. My appt is not until the 9th of February. I think quitting smoking is as important to my health as having this surg. Actually health wise I almost feel what is the point of having the surg. if I am not going to quit smoking. Help!! Need some advice and input on these!!! Thanks! shelli

Most surgeons will NOT do surgery on you if you have been smoking before surgery any where from 30-90 days depending on the surgeon.. I"d quit now your going to but your body through major surgery for better health... quitting is the easy part. I quit 4 years ago cold turkey and my lungs thank me everyday! Good Luck!! Debby
