? concerning birth control
She may have. I just got off the phone with my ob/gyn and I have an appointment next Friday(7th) to discuss the different birth control options.
I started the depo shot in June and had used it once before after I had my first son(9yrs ago) and I was well over 180 then. Nobody said anything to me then about it. So I'll just keep my pcp and gyno visits seperate.
There is a great article in Yahoo News regarding excess lbs and birth control.... here is the link: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=97&ncid=97&e=4&u=/hsn/20041229/hl_hsn/excessweightcancompromisebirthcontrolpills
Hope it helps!

I'm here to say that I am the biggest depo supporter alive!! I was 460 lbs with hypertension and I was getting depo shots for 2 years before my surgery. I got the shots from Planned Parenthood & my OB/GYN, and neither one had an issue w/ it. My primary doc was a little worried about the shots making me depressed, but they haven't, so he thinks they are ok-- he agrees they are certainly better for me than being pregnant!!
Well, it is true on the depo shot for over 180 lbs...No one told me this, not even doctors until I was pregnant with my 4th child. So, I would not suggest the depo for anyone over 180lbs personally.
I was breastfeeding and on the depo when I got pregnant....SHEESH, course I MUST be major fertile cuz I got pregnant on the pill, taking it like clockwork also. AND, sheesh even using condoms wound up pregnant..sooo...lol...maybe I'm NOT a good example here.
