Now what?
I got a call from Barix this afternoon, saying that I had been approved, BUT......my Humana provider will no longer be covering the surgery as of January 1st, and Barix clinic is out of network, so I would be responsible for $9000, something we just can't afford. I'm so angry with Humana. They had me jump through all these hoops and never once said anything about ending coverage for WLS at this year or that Barix was out of network. When I called them this afternoon, I was told that they don't have any of that info, only the approval dept does, and only providers can talk to that dept. I'm waiting for the nurse at Barix to call me tomorrow with the approval letter, but even if it's covered, I would have to have the surgery Tuesday, and I don't know if I can get everything ready by then. I'm so disappointed, I wish they'd told me that it wasn't covered in the beginning and I wouldn't have taken it this far.

Dont give up!! Everyone i sright it is amazing what a surgeon can do in a little bit of time. Keep your chin up and think good thoughts. That would be a wonderful Christmas present. Everything will work out like it supposed to i know it is easier for me to say that than it is to have to go through it but i feel for you. Happy Holidays and GOOD LUCK!!

What a roller coaster. I've been on the phone with Humana and Barix all day. Final word: yes, my out of pocket is 80/20 but my yearly limit is $500. I've been approved to have the surgery at Barix on December 27th, so I'll be spending next week getting my blood work done and getting my business ready to be shut down while I'm in the hospital. Maybe I can teach my husband how to fix computers while I'm recuperating. Thanks to everyone for your good wishes. And in the middle of all of this, my son called to tell me I'm going to be a grandma! My stomach is doing flip flops.
