I am seeking info on St. Joseph's Medical Center in Joliet and any Dr. who does RNY surgery there. I live close to Joliet and would like to stay close or go to ST. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. I have a sister who lives near there and I can stay with her until I can drive. (I have Medicare insurance as my major and BC/BS as my secondary insurance) I want to get going as soon as possible. I am 5' 1" tall and weight 300'. I have studied for this surgery for over 5 years and now I think the window is open for me to have it. Someone please write me back with any info you find helpful. Does Medicare cover this sugery??????? I heard that they do if the doctor knows what he is doing!!!!!!! Tell me your Story. I tried 5 years ago but they said because my husband worked for a company with less than 25 people I had to go with his BC/BS insurance first and Medicare secondary. I just found out that they were wrong. In the book " WHO PAYS FIRST" it states that if you are on Social Security Dissability and your husband's employeer has less than 100 people working for him MEDICARE IS YOUR PRIMAREY INSURANCE. Blue/Cross/Blue/Shield is your secondary thru Local 705 Teamsters Chicago, Illinois. Back 5 years ago so many people I talked to were covered thru Medicare but I don't know if that is so now. I know I am dissabled and my weight is making me worse, and is the cause of most of my problems. Thats what the doctors always say anyway. I have sleep apnea, knee problems, trouble breathing, arthritis, joint pains, and much more. Sorry my message is so long please write me. Thanks Linda Minooka, Illinois outside of Joliet
