Any support groups in So Il

i am looking for a support group in So Il around the Carbondale area. I will be having surgery Dec 1 and was wanting to connect with others around my area. Thanks.....Andrea

We are going to start one in Chester and Sparta some time next year LOL that sounds so far off... I'm sure there are some in Carbondale good luck to you....Shelly

Hey! St. Josephs hosp in Murphy has a support group the 2nd Thursday of each month. I'm not sure on the time, I think its either 6 or 7. If you find Donna Polstons profile on here under peers, she can tell you for sure. I've not yet been to one. Congrats on the upcoming surgery date!! Who's your surgeon?

Thanks for the info. I'll call St Joes to find out. My surgeon is Dr. de la Torre in St.Louis. He's one of the top physicians in the country that does lap rny. He actually pioneered the equipment and the procedure. I feel very fortunate to have a doctor with his credentials. It is only one week away. I'm excited and at the same time somewhat apprehensive. It goes with every surgery that I have had. I'm relying on God to help me through this. Thank again....Andrea

I've heard many many good things about Dr. de la Torre. I had a friend go to him, and she absolutely loved him. I hope everything goes smoothly with your surgery and you get to feeling better fast!

St Joes hospital in Murphysboro has a support group and i think the post that Lora had said that it was the 2nd Thursday of the month. I do know that the next meeting is Dec 9. Good Luck when is your surgery? Nanette
